What is Dogscouts?

DSA members - We need your pictures!! It's easy to upload pictures of DSA activities that you've taken to this folder. Select it, then choose "upload pictures" from the tools on the left. Find the pictures on your computer (you can upload many all at once) and click on "Add Photos and Videos now". Voila! Then let me know (EBlack@Cinci.rr.com) so they can be added to the appropriate album/folder.
Barktoberfests
Barktoberfest is an annual dog event held at River Downs in the Anderson, Ohio area. The Dogscouts have a display booth and host the doggie games.

Camping, Michigan DSA camp
Dog Scouts of America's (DSA) national headquarters is in Michigan, where there is a campsite set up specifically for dogs and their people.

The dogscout troop has had annual camping trips at beautiful Hocking Hills, beginning in 2006.

The group enjoyed beautiful weather and scenery at Mammoth Caves in the fall of 2008
Camping - Moutardier (Moody Dear)
Moutardier is another camp area that the troop visits occasionally.
Canoe/Kayaking 2005,2006
Each summer, we take our dogs with us as we brave the Little Miami River and other surrounding rivers in canoes and kayaks.

Dog Fest 2009
DogFest 2009 at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio. Temperatures weren't quite as hot this year, but we got stormed on & rained out the latter part of the day on Sunday!
Doggie Games
Doggie games are fun to play at meetings and get-togethers. Most of them also teach or reinforce other tricks, commands and skills.

Fundraisers-Pilot Dog Walk
Our Dogscout Troop 107 is a regular supporter of this annual fund-raiser walk to help raise money for the Pilot Dog foundation; which helps train & provide service dogs for the blind.
Fundraisers-K-9 Police dog equipment
Police dogs need bullet-proof vests and other safety equipment. The dogscout troop holds fundraisers to help provide these items for police dogs in our area. Some of the Dogscout dogs will take a donation and put it in their bucket - a trick the shoppers love to see!

Fundraisers in the lobby of the Bass Pro store to support Search and Rescue dogs. Some of the Dogscout dogs will take a donation and put it in their bucket - a trick the shoppers love to see!
K-9 Presentations, 2005
2005 vest recipients - Max and King, German Shepherd Police Dogs with the Florence, KY Police Department. Plus the troop provided safety equipment for Moose, a "drug-only" Labradore Retriever, with the Gallatin County Police Department.
K-9 Presentations, 2006
2006 recipient - Perro, a Dutch Shepherd Police Dog with the Hamilton Township, Ohio Police Department. The troop provided a custom-fitted bullet-proof vest for the dog.
K-9 Presentations, 2007
2007 recipient - Amigo, a German Shepherd Dog recently acquired by the Madeira, Ohio Police Department. The troop raised nearly $1800 for a custom fitted, K-9 Storm bullet-proof vest for the dog.
